Temporary Quarters and Recreation Houses
MWR (Wings Inn) has 35 units, including 14 townhouses and 21 suites available year round. Reservations may be made:
*PCS arrivals: three months prior to arrival.
*Summer (May 16th-Oct14). Vacationers can reserve two weeks prior to arrival.
*Winter (Oct 15th-May15) Vacationers can reserve 30 days prior to arrival.
*No Pets and No Smoking allowed.
TQ also handles rentals of the Recreation Houses on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Additional information is available on the MWR website or by calling the TQ office. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am-2pm. If you have any questions call 508-968-6461
Child Development Center
U.S. Coast Guard Child Development Center, located at 5205 ENT Street offers a wide range of programming for children 2 months to 6 years of age Monday through Friday 7am-5pm. A limited before school program is offered for 1st through 4th grades during the school year. Sliding fee for full time enrollment. Call Sandra Gifford at 508-6450 to schedule tour.
Women, Infant & Children (WIC)
WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food and other services free of charge to Mass. families who qualify.
WIC's goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, new moms, and kids under 5 healthy. To do this WIC provides:
*Personalized nutrition information, consultations and support.
*Vouchers to obtain free, healthy food.
*Tips for eating well to improve health
*Referrals for medical and dental care, health insurances, child care, housing and
fuel assistance, and other services that can benefit the whole family.
